Schools

DT Coaching prides itself in providing high-quality coaching services within schools throughout the South West of England. We are committed to delivering a professional, innovative, and tailored service to each of the schools we work with to ensure that we not only meet the national PE curriculum and Government targets, but also work to the individual school’s ethos, objectives, and budget.

We are continuously expanding the services and activities we provide, therefore if you are looking for a particular provision that is not set out in our Services or Activities, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us to discuss further.

Our Services

P.E. Provisions  & PPA Cover

Our coaches have vast amounts of experience in delivering fun activities to build children’s self-esteem, resilience, and group cohesion, whilst developing their agility, balance and co-ordination.

We provide structured curriculum-based PE lessons which aim to meet specific learning outcomes for all ages and abilities.

We offer tailored programmes which are designed to not only meet the National Curriculum requirements, but also meet and exceed Government targets and Ofsted requirements.

CPD Workshops

DT Coaching can run interactive workshops at your school for both teaching and support staff, providing them with the practical skills and confidence to be able to deliver an array of curricular and alternative sports to the required standard. Each CPD programme can be individually catered to fit the school and  staff’s needs.

CPD workshops are also accompanied with a full scheme of work and lessons plans, to allow those staff members to continue their delivery once their CPD workshops have been completed.

Intervention & Fun Fitness Lessons

Our team of coaches has years of experience of working with specific target groups in school. Whether that be children with additional physical/medical needs, or those individuals in school who simply need extra support and plenty of positive reinforcement.

We have the knowledge and ability to piece together a student-specific programme to encourage the children to flourish in these small-sized group lessons.

Playground Leadership Award

The Playground Leadership course introduces and develops leadership skills in Year 5 and 6 students by giving them the skillset to coordinate, plan, deliver and evaluate an array of safe and engaging activities for younger children in their school during lunchtimes.

Not only will this 6-hour Leadership course increase the amount of physical activity undertaken during playtime, but it will help to raise the self-esteem and self-confidence of the playground leaders.

Health & Wellbeing Workshops

DT Coaching would work closely with the school to identify those children who would benefit from additional time with our staff members, revisiting Fundamental Motor Skill work, as well as having different themed sessions and covering cross curricular lessons to ensure children understand the effects of exercise on the human body, both mentally and physically.

This would also cover links with diets, food groups and healthy eating.

Sports Day, Project Days & Curriculum Enrichment Days

Our coaches will organise and deliver sports days/curriculum enrichment days to suit the school’s needs and facilities and the students’ abilities. We can incorporate traditional activities from the sack race to the egg and spoon race, while integrating our {Alternative} sporting activities.

Fixtures/Intra School Competitions

Whether you need us to plan and run the competition or would just like our coaches to referee on the day, we have the experience, punctuality, and creativity to assist with running a well-structured and fun day. Our coaches have recently been involved with events such as Cornwall Sports Games.

In-House Festivals & Competitions

DT Coaching would offer termly in house festivals and competitions, allowing all children throughout the academic year the chance to represent their house team in a number of traditional and alternative challenges.

Lunchtime Clubs

Across lunchtimes, DT Coaching would work with the school’s support staff to ensure “active lunchtimes” are implemented and monitored throughout the term. This will provide children with the opportunity to revisit and practice the skills learnt that term in their PE lessons, ensuring all lunchtimes are engaging, fun, and relevant to the curriculum.

After School Clubs

DT Coaching will discuss with the school a half-termly club plan, to ensure that students get the opportunity to participate in an array of traditional and alternative sporting activities throughout the year. With regards to activities we can offer, not only can we deliver all curricular topics listed on the curriculum, but also a vast array of {Alternative} Sporting Activities

Swimming Instruction

We have a team of fully qualified swim teachers who have been training and have the experience of working with children with varying abilities in the water. Whether that be working with non-swimmers, improving their ability, buoyancy, and confidence in the water, all the way through to club level swimmers, working on fine motor skills such as stroke development and streamlining exercises.

We also have experience of covering life-saving skills and Junior Lifeguard Awards in the water for Upper Key Stage 2 children.

House Points/Attendance/Behaviour Awards

Celebrate and reward positive attributes in school with a Reward/Awards morning for those children whose achievements are to be celebrated. Take your pick from any of our {Traditional] or {Alternative} activities, even let the children choose if it’s their treat, and we will create an activity timetable to celebrate good behaviour, attendance, resilience and/or the winning House Team from the half term/term.

Holiday Clubs

We understand that there is increasing need for holiday provisions to assist parents/guardians with childcare whist they work.

We are able to organise and run fun and inclusive holiday clubs at your school for your students, providing them with the opportunity to stay active and social during the school holidays.

DT Coaching is also a recognised provider of the Government’s Time2Move Holiday Programme. The Programme has been developed to ensure that those children eligible for benefit-related free school meals, continue to receive a free hot meal during the holiday periods whilst partaking in physical activities. If you think your students/children in the local community would benefit from such activities and food provisions, please do not hesitate to get in contact and we can discuss delivering activities at your school.

Transition Projects

We have volumes of experience in running projects which help children and young people to get to grips with the transition from primary to secondary school.

We can run sessions which allow children and young people to meet and socialise with their peers ahead of the new term, whilst participating in fun sporting and team building activities.

Assistance with Transport

To assist with the additional pressure of staffing from the school’s perspective, our provisions can also include our coach(es) being present at the school to assist with transporting students to and from particular lessons/events/competitions and the student-to-staff ratios whilst being off site.

We also have staff who have undertaken their minibus driving training and are happy to drive if needed (subject to the school’s insurance cover).
